For those members attending the Asia Bridge Forum in Brisbane, 16 – 18 June 2019 complimentary ground transport between the venues will be made available to you.

Ground transfers will be organised/notified closer to the date.

Dress Code

The dress code for the daytime meetings at the hotel is business casual. The meeting rooms are air-conditioned, so a light jacket or layers are suggested for comfort during sessions.

Smart casual – Seasonal sport coat or blazer & slacks or nice jeans, dress shirt, casual button-down shirt, open-collar or polo shirt.

There is no doubt you will want to visit many of the beautiful Australian beaches, please wear lots of sunblock when doing so. Australia’s sun is harsh. If you have very pale skin, it may be best to wear a hat and a sundress or shirt to keep your skin covered.

When visiting the beach, please be sure never to swim alone & always swim between the flags. These flags are to protect you from dangerous swells & changing water conditions.

Etiquette

When visiting a restaurant in many places around the world it is common to tip, it is not in Australia. All service charges are included in the bill, so you will not have to worry about adding extra.

English is the official language of the 2019 Asia Bridge Campus, Gold Coast.

Currency

The dollar (sign: $: code: AUD), is the official currency of Australia. The dollar is subdivided into 100 cents.

Australia as a network of ATMs from which it is possible to withdraw cash 24.7/ Check with your bank about fees & immediately applied interest. Credit cards are accepted at most hotels, stores & restaurants. You can exchange money at banks which are open from 9am to 6pm, 5 days a week & 10am – 12pm on Saturdays. You may exchange currency at automatic currency exchange machines, however these are for currency sale transactions only.

Electricity

The electrical current in Australia is 230 volts at a frequency of 50Hz. Travellers from most nations in Asia, Africa & Europe should have appliances that work on the same mains voltage.
